Road info
Chains need to be fitted to 2WD from either Canterbury View or Rakaia Saddle (windy at Rakaia). Keep left to maintain 2-way access and observe the 40km/h speed limit. If you have a line of cars forming behind you, please pull over to allow faster vehicles to pass safely.
Weather Comment
Open After the wild weather, winds have only just eased enough for our grooming team to head out this morning. Our first priority will be storm checks, and once complete we’ll open with the Magic Carpets followed by the Nor’West Lift. Please note there may be a slight delay on the Nor’West Lift, but we’re aiming for a 10am opening. Once mid-mountain is groomed our team will move to the upper terrain and if winds continue to ease we’re hopeful the Summit will open around midday. The best skiing and riding today will be on the main trails. Please remember to wear your helmet and layer up against these winds. Snow is in the forecast for tonight, so we might be looking at a cheeky powder day tomorrow (Friday). Drive safe, and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
