Information

Porters is open with all lifts spinning. We have finally got a break in the recent strong winds. At 5:45am it is 2 degrees in the base area, with light winds from the north west and the odd stronger gust. Higher up the mountain, winds are moderate, but forecast to decrease and swing round to the south around midday. With this change in wind direction, we expect to see some snow arriving. Visibility will be in and out all day, so it will be a good idea to use low light lenses and dress warm. There will be some fun turns to be found around the ski area today. On the upper mountain, we have groomed two wide trails in Sundance down to the load area at T3, as well as McNulty’s all the way through to Stellar Bowl. Easy Street and our learners area have been groomed nice and wide this morning, and will be a lot of fun today, especially with some new snow in the forecast. If you’re looking for a lesson, pop into our ticket office and book a spot with one of our instructors – we have options for all ages and abilities. Kids 10 and under ski for free at Porters. The access road this morning is chain free, but with snow in the forecast today, all vehicles need to carry chains. If you do not have chains for your vehicle, please park at chain bay 2 and use our shuttle. Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 8:45am, 9:30am, 10am, 10:30am and 11:00am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon. Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar, just 6km up our access road, will be open for coffee from 9am, and meals from 11am. Pop in for Apres after enjoying a day on our slopes. Snowplay is closed until further notice – check back for updates after the weekend.
