Porters Snow Report

Porters is open with all lifts spinning, and it’s shaping up to be another stunner, with wall to wall sunshine, light winds, pleasant temperatures and some great snow conditions. At 7am, we are above the cloud in the valleys, with clear skies and light winds at all elevations. The current temperature is 0 degrees. The view this morning makes getting up early worth it! We have groomed two wide trails in Sundance down to the load area at T3. This has been a lot of fun the last few days, and with recent fresh snow, which has stayed in great condition, it will be the pick of the day first thing. There are some great pockets of wind blown snow off trail on our upper mountain, but if you do go searching, please be careful of unmarked hazards. The intermediate trails through McNulty’s, down through Stellar Bowl and into Easy Street are also looking great today, with wide grooming and chalky snow on offer. Our learners areas will have soft forgiving snow all day, and will be a great place to practice your skills. If you’re looking for a lesson, pop into our ticket office and book a spot with one of our instructors – we have options for all ages and abilities. Kids 10 and under ski for free at Porters. The access road this morning is chain free. We recommend in winter that all vehicles carry chains. Our shuttle service will be running return trips throughout the day, picking up at Chain Bay 2 (and the lodge on request) at 9:30am and 10:30am. Return shuttles will be available all afternoon. Porters Lodge Restaurant and Bar, just 6km up our access road, will be open for coffee from 9am, and meals from 11am. Pop in for Apres after enjoying a day on our slopes. Snowplay is open today. The Lodge hike park event this evening has been postponed, unfortunately, there is not enough snow to run this. We are currently arranging an alternative date in spring and will update soon.
